Oscar van Heek

Oscar works as film-maker, and photographer and writer. Oscar has produced two feature films and recently written and directed DARK WATER a unique experimental collaboration with Scottish Opera and composer Malcolm Lindsay. As a photographer, Oscar recently completed THE IRON HARVEST, a project commemorating the 100th anniversary of WW1 Armistice, shortlisted for the Sony World Photography Awards 2019. Currently Oscar is working on an ambitious multi platform project 'WATERFALLS', which will form the basis of a digital app, book & solo exhibition. Oscar has written four feature length screenplays and is currently writing a children's series of books entitled The Bongles.

Iain has worked as a freelance artist specialising in illustration and multi-media film and video work since the mid 1980’s. He has led projects with many diverse groups and communities across Scotland and Europe and has won a number of awards at film festivals in the UK, Europe and America.

 

He has created a number of educational film works and illustration projects for Scottish Opera including the animated story books for the awarding winning children’s operas; A Tale o’ Tam O’ Shanter and James Watt: A Head of Steam as well as the Pop Up Opera tours; A Little Bit of Bubble McBea and A Little Bit of Northern Light. His work has taken him across the world to places including India, Canada, Botswana, South Africa and Oman.


Outwith his Bongles work he is currently working on a number of illustration and film projects including Fever (a musical about a virus), The Song of the Clyde (a pop up opera about the history of the River Clyde) and The Tiny Chef (a collaboration between Scottish Opera and the Confucius institute to create an online book introducing children to chinese food and language.)

Frances O'Neill

Frances is a teacher, writer, psychologist and Education Technology entrepreneur. She oversees the creation of award-winning Ed Tech products. The awards include:
